Time Manager
Time Manager is a web-based system and requires IIS 6 or above running on a Windows 2000 or later server. The system can also be operated on IIS 6 or above running under Windows XP.
The database requires SQL Server 2000 or above. For offices where SQL Server is not already available we can provide, free of charge, SQL Server Express 2005 for database handling.
To view the Microsoft recommendation for SQL Server Express 2005 click here. To compare the requirements for other versions of SQL Server 2005 click here.
We would recommend that where both SQL Server and IIS are running on the same server, that at least 2 GByte of RAM is installed.
Time Manager will operate under Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 or above and Mozilla Firefox. Other browsers may be supported but have not been fully tested with Time Manager, although we have checked Apple Safari and found this operates acceptably. For consistency of display Internet Explorer is recommended.
Windows Solutions
All Profess windows solutions require Windows 2000 or higher.
The following information is provided to allow you to evaulate the system requirements of Profess. Please note that the information given is for minimum requirement and in many cases you will already be operating with this specification or higher. Pillar Software do not provide SQL Server as part of your installation: it is assumed that this is already available or will be purchased separtely. However, for the smaller office we can provide SQL Server 2005 Express at no charge.
Data Server
Single Pentium III 1 GHz processor (dual core processor supported by SQL Server if required)
Memory: 2 GByte
Hard Disk space: The initial database installation will use 50MBytes of storage, which will rise by approximately 10 MBytes per member of Staff per year.
SQL Server 2005 Express support where required for free database storage in smaller offices.
Application Server
For client-server operation any fileserver is approriate for centralised storage of program files. We recommend using our built in auto-update features for local installation of the programs, with the server being used for periodic updates which are then rolled out to individual users.
For web enabled modules IIS with ASP.NET 2.0 support is required
Workstation
Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista with 256 MBytes memory (Winows 2000/XP) or 512 MBytes memory (Windows Vista), Pentium IV 1 GHz or AMD 1GHz processor, 10 GByte disk if local program operation is required
